The best source for information about Food not Bombs (FNB) is their website at http://www.foodnotbombs.net
You can also contact local groups using the directory at http://www.foodnotbombs.net/contacts.html
Food Not Bombs is made up of hundreds of autonomous groups worldwide who's primary purpose is to serve vegan food to the homeless.
Each group recovers food that would otherwise be thrown out and makes fresh hot vegetarian meals that are served in city parks to anyone without restriction. The groups also serve free vegetarian meals at protests and other events.
There is no set time for when groups serve food. Generally though food is served at midday or supper time.
For an explanation on why Food Not Bombs does this work see "Why Food Not Bombs?" http://www.foodnotbombs.net/bookwhy.html which is a chapter from the book FOOD NOT BOMBS HANDBOOK.
All of this information was found at the Food Not Bombs site http://www.foodnotbombs.net
