Prior to almost every election mainstream citizens start complaining about how partisan most politicians are and if they'd only be able to look out for the common good, society and government would operate so much better. So here's my question:
Has anyone done a study to see who is actually more partisan in their voting habits in Congress of the two major parties from say 1960 on? Who is more partisan amongst voters themselves? My assumption is that Republicans in Congress and registered Republican voters are quite a bit more partisan in their voting habits. If this is the case I think these study results should be WIDELY advertised.
