It is interesting to compare different institutions' resources and guides, and worthwhile to consider how information is filtered within the academy. Librarians, in general and according to our profession's guidelines, are dedicated to providing access to knowledge, high in quality and rich in diversity. But we are all shaped and restrained by the institutional contexts in which we operate. Which is why it is useful to look outside of our comfort zone, and if we perceive limits in other places perhaps we can better understand the limits we don't always see in our own range of vision.
