There's an article about fact checking by a veteran verifier in Bitch magazine.
Aleine DeGraw. "Fact Fiction: Making the Truth Work for Women's Magazines." Summer 2005: 31-33.
DeGraw talks about how women's magazines choose among the "facts" available to them. I put the word in quotes because it seems that conflicting facts can exist, even from different reliable sources. It's a useful and interesting piece for anyone teaching or helping with media research.
Bitch: Feminist Response to Pop Culture is indexed in the Alternative Press Index, but to my knowledge no one else. Two years of it are full text in GenderWatch.
