National Guantanamo Teach-In

GUANTANAMO: HOW SHOULD WE RESPOND
NATIONAL GUANTANAMO TEACH-IN

October 5, 2006
9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Gateway Center Room 43
University of North Texas

The Pre-Law Program and the Peace Studies Program at the University of North Texas are sponsoring UNTs participation in Seton Hall Universitys day-long GUANTANAMO TEACH-IN. UNT (along with over 250 other universities nationwide) will participate by video conference (streaming Internet).

Please announce this in your classes. Students, faculty and
staff are welcome to attend any and all of the sessions. Faculty who wish to bring an entire class for one or more of the sessions should contact David Mason (Peace Studies Program, Department of Political Science).

We can maintain sign-in sheets for faculty if they will simply contact us with the course number, the faculty members name, and an estimate of the number of
students in the class.

The Guantanamo Teach In will bring together in one place - and simulcast across the country - prominent journalists, scholars, human rights activists, military officers, lawyers for detainees and released detainees themselves - to engage in an unprecedented discussion on an issue of great national importance. The web site for the teach-in is at:

http://law.shu.edu/guantanamoteachin/index3.htm

The preliminary program follows.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL TIMES IN THE PROGRAM ARE EASTERN STANDARD TIME, so the time at UNT will be ONE HOUR EARLIER.

Thanks,

David Mason
