Thanks to Gabe, the Library Education Forum website/wiki is up.
The Forum will be held at the Community Church of New York on Saturday, March 11, 2006. More details to come.
It is partially a response to an event thrown last year by ASIS&T, Queens College ALA, and the Lloyd George Sealy Library that was dominated by library school faculty, had some input from library practitioners and a finally token panel of students left with 15 minutes at the end of the 4.5 hour session. The original event was supposed to address concerns raised by Michael Gorman's presidential theme calling for changes in library education, but mostly it was just defensive. (I believe I am representing the opinions of other NYC Rad Reffies that attended the event in characterizing it as I have, but I am really speaking only for myself.)
Questions about the LEF should be sent to liseforum at gmail.com.
