I am trying to fact check a quote my organization is using in an online resource directory. in our guiding statement we quote george clinton, and i need to know the exact quote. we have two versions:

"Whoever controls the flow of information dictates our perceptions and perspectives; whoever controls the news shapes our destiny."

and

"Whoever controls the media shapes our perceptions and perspectives. Whoever controls the news defines our destiny."

Which one is correct and where can i verify this?
