Food Not Lawns-Cultivating Food Justice Conference!

On March 3rd, 2007 The San Diego Food Not Lawns put on an all day conference and workshop at City College.
Michelle Simon, author of "Appetite for Profit, How the Food Industry Undermines Our Health and How to Fight Back." was the opening speaker, and Dolores Huerta made the evening keynote address.

Food Not Bombs provided the fresh from the dumpster lunch of soups, salads, bread, hummos and coffee.
Most attendees had been encouraged to bring their own utensils and bowls, making a minimum of waste.
Musicians, local dance troupes and vendors provided entertainment during the breaks and a seed swap was utilized by many as a way to explore new food and planting options. For more information, or to get involved, go to:
