QUESTION: critical thought

question / pregunta:

what books about critical thinking do you recommend the most?

Answers

There are a few places that I would look to find recommended reading lists for Critical Thinking. MIT, Berkeley, and Harvard all have course syllabi available on their websites. There is one course in particular Theory of Knowledge at MIT that looks like it would be helpful. The syllabus is located here: MIT syllabus

You can access Harvard’s syllabi here and Berkeley’s are available through itunes.

There are also bibliographies available online such as: Grassroots organizing bibliography. I entered the following search in google: "grassroots organizing" bibliography. You could try similar searches with the other elements of your study such as "Chicano studies" bibliography or "critical thinking" bibliography.

You can search for any of the books through your Public Library or University Online catalog. You can also search on Worldcat to find which library nearest to you has the books. To locate the articles, there are databases available through your public library and University library. If you want to search further on online library catalogs or in online databases some good Library of Congress Subject Headings to use are:
Critical thinking.
Minorities -- United States -- Periodicals.
Minorities -- United States -- Political activity -- Periodicals.
Community organization -- United States -- History -- 20th century.
Social action -- United States -- History -- 20th century.

I hope this steers you in the right direction. Please let me know if there is any other way I can assist you.
