I've realized belatedly that I really don't understand what anarchy means in the current context. Can you point me to two or three pieces on the subject, written only in the last four years, that would be widely regarded as defining what people usually mean by the term these days?
If I had caught on to my misunderstanding earlier, I probably could have gone to the Life after Capitalism conference last week. Now I'm suddenly understanding that there is something there that I have not been in touch with and I need to know about.
Also, just as a personal opinion, do you regard anarchism as a real movement within the, say, 17-30 generation?

anarchism is by its nature multiple, so it's unlikely you'll find a piece that definitively tells you what anarchism means. however these sources might give you a general idea of what anarchism is about today.
some current information sources i happen to like are:
- Institute for Anarchist Studies http://www.anarchist-studies.org/
- Food Not Bombs http://www.foodnotbombs.net/
- Anarchy Magazine (their website sucks -- check out the actual magazine)
- the previously mentioned infoshop.com
- Institute for Social Ecology (not explicitly anarchist, but awesome nonetheless) http://www.social-ecology.org/
- also, depending on where you are, there might be a (physical) infoshop near you; i think there's a listing on infoshop.org
