QUESTION: freedom of expression

question / pregunta: 

I am looking for information on freedom of expression projects in developing countries. I want to get a sense of what different regions are doing, issues they face, who is doing the organizing. I am also interested in any FoE movements involving the Palestinian/Israeli conflict and what is going on in Iran and Pakistan.

You may want to look at the website of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
There you can find reports on the right to freedom of opinion and expression by country visits:
www2.ohchr.org/english/issues/opinion/visits.htm,
and you can also find supplementary information among the rest of the
documents.
One of the documents called "Report of the Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression, Ambeyi Ligabo - Addendum - Summary of cases transmitted to Governments and replies received" has paragraphs for different countries, including Israel, Pakistan and Iran.

You might also be interested in checking out the International Freedom of Expression Exchange's website (http://www.ifex.org/). This is an association of organizations around the world dedicated to freedom of expression. It contains a list of its member organizations and of campaigns it is involved with that promote freedom of expression in the developed world/Global South.

OK, so now all of a sudden the whole answer is showing up on the page. What the heck is going on here? I wonder what? it it easier for me to come up with actual words, or should I just be typing charater strings? why do I even care. shouldn't I be doing something else right now?
