For books, a good place to start is WorldCat, a combined catalog of many libraries. Try using keyword searches such as [racism labor] or [diversity workplace] - put the words in brackets into the search box. You'll get a list of books that might be useful. It's interesting to see which types of books come up using different terms. "Diversity" tends to get more business-friendly books, while "racism" gets more politically oppostional books. Here are some titles that I picked from a couple such searches. You should investigate on your own to see if any are useful:

Honey, Michael K. Black Workers Remember An Oral History of Segregation, Unionism, and the Freedom Struggle. George Gund Foundation imprint in African American studies. Berkeley, Calif: University of California Press, 1999.

European Commission. International Perspectives on Positive Action Measures: A Comparative Analysis in the European Union, Canada, the United States and South Africa. Luxembourg: Office for Official Publications of the European Communities, 2009.

Boswell, Terry. Racial Competition and Class Solidarity. Albany: State University of New York Press, 2006.

Fernandez, John P., and Jules Davis. Race, Gender, and Rhetoric: The True State of Race and Gender Relations in Corporate America. New York: McGraw-Hill, 1999.

Thomas, R. Roosevelt. Building on the Promise of Diversity: How We Can Move to the Next Level in Our Workplaces, Our Communities, and Our Society. New York: AMACOM, American Management Association, 2006.

Shein, Lori. Inequality: Opposing Viewpoints in Social Problems. San Diego, Calif: Greenhaven Press, 1998.

You probably have access to some databases through your school or public library. A search for "discrimination in employment" in EBSCOhost's Academic Search Premier gets 3537 hits, and you could narrow it to articles that are also about "race discrimination" quite easily. Any other general news database or social sciences database would also be a good place to search for journal articles.

When searching WorldCat and periodical databases, you might want to try using some of the following subject headings:

Race discrimination
Discrimination in employment
Minorities -- Employment
Affirmative action programs
Diversity in the workplace

Here are some books, articles, and websites that might be useful ....
