The next Rad Ref meeting is at a Sci-Fi library in a *clubhouse*! Sept. 22 at 7pm

Hello, Rad Reffers!

The New England Science Fiction Association has offered to introduce us to their library, and are sharing their space for our next Boston Radical Reference meeting. NESFA's Library features "7,000 science fiction books, a great reference collection, and an extensive run of SF magazines and fanzines." Amazing, right?

We'll be doing a little what-is-Rad Ref spiel at the start of the meeting, so this is a great occasion for finding out more about what we do. We welcome librarians, library workers, library school students, and folks who are interested in research (or do work in related areas) -- no MLIS required!

When: September 22 at 7pm
Where: New England Science Fiction Association clubhouse, at 504 Medford Street, Somerville, MA 02145.

For information about the clubhouse, including driving directions, go here:

What we'll be talking about:
In addition to a little Rad Ref intro, and learning about the NESFA library, we'd like to catch up on Rad Ref concerns & plans.

On the agenda so far:

  • Time for announcements & project updates.
  • Discussion about shifting meeting-organizing responsibilities to a new duo or trio of RadRef members
  • Rad Ref event at Sprout to connect librarians & researchers with local artists (in conjunction with Artists in Context) -- anyone interested?
  • ...& the rest is TBD...*Please send agenda items & discussion topics to me and I'll add them to the list.

Hope to see you there!
