Is there a list of federal subsidies to media giants/corporations?
I haven't found an answer, but work by Robert W. McChesney might be a starting point. He actually talks more about government subsidies of public broadcasting, but in an article on opendemocracy.org, he refers to money going to corporations: http://www.opendemocracy.net/media-globalmediaownership/article_56.jsp.
I concur that this question is tricky to answer. If you can be more specific, we'll take another stab at it.
The answer to this question is unfortunately not so straightforward, in part because different people have different interpretations of what constitutes a subsidy. However, if one had a list of the specific media corporations that were of interest (e.g., the "big 6"), and a more detailed definition of what types of government subsidies are of interest, the answers should mostly be retrievable using the advanced search feature at usaspending.gov.
