Answer: Further Question and Answer about Racial Divercity in NY Public Schools

After recieving additional clarification from questioner, who is looking for data for individual high schools in the Harlem area, I sent him the following:

School reports for 2003-2004 can be found on the NYC Dept of Education site at http://www.nycenet.edu/daa/SchoolReports/

Reports for 2002-2003 are at http://www.nycenet.edu/daa/SchoolReports/default_cont.asp

You can then click through to region, district, and individual school reports. I only looked at some briefly, but they seem to be rich in data and analysis.

The Division of Assessment and Accountability offers to provide researchers with data: http://www.nycenet.edu/daa/

Specifically: http://www.nycenet.edu/daa/research/

I don’t know what time-frame they work in. I could not find earlier reports posted on the site.

Also,

The National Center for Education Statistics (a Dept. of Education resource) provides a searchable database called the National Public School Locator, available at http://nces.ed.gov/ccd/schoolsearch/

I performed a search for New York as city, New York as state, and checked Regular for school description to perform the search. This results in a list of 219 schools; information includes enrollment by grade, enrollment by race/ethnicity, and enrollment by gender. Data is for the 2003/04 school year. However, the demographic information is not provided for all schools.

Please let me know if this is helpful or you need additional information.
