Shinjoung and I are on the board of Question Copyright, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose goal is to "promote public understanding of the history and effects of copyright, and encourage the development of alternatives to information monopolies." Even though we can't make it to this informational meeting since we're in SF/IL, we encourage our NYC radreffie peeps (and *especially* LIS and other students!) to go, talk with Karl Fogel and Nina Paley , find out how you can get Sita out of jail and more generally help us change copyright!
We're holding a New York City area informational meeting on Monday. If you'd like to learn more about what we do and how you can get involved, please come!
We'll focus on the Sita Distribution Project, and a couple of other exciting projects that are ready for more hands. Students, we're open to offering credit if we can work it out with your school.
