Radical Reference was invited to present two workshops at the Mid Atlantic Radical Bookfair. The one I was on was called Radical Information For All: Radical Public, Academic, and Independent Libraries and Services.
Described as "A dialog on radical services provided by librarians and information advocates." The panel consisted of Chuck D'Adamo of Baltimore's Alternative Press Center collective, zine librarian Miriam DesHarnais from Baltimore County's Cockeysville Branch, and me representing Radical Reference. Jenna moderated and I think it went pretty well.

QUESTION: Alternative Youth Culture in Nazi Germany

I'm looking for sources on the edelweiss piraten, a youth group that tried to create an alternative to the Hitler Youth, and i'm also looking for any youth groups or actions in nazi germany that were confronting nazism with the actions of their everyday lives, thanks!

looking to find deportation records of activists that came here cuba in the early 1900's.. joined mexican group in los angeles in 1913 .. i am not sure if they stayed here or were deported. would like to find out what happened.. maybe they have children.. is it possible to find them as well??

QUESTION: apartheid - plural form?

Dear RR:

What is the plural form of "apartheid?" I rarely hear it used in anything but the singular (near always referring to the South African system) which among other things obscures the existence of numerous systems of apartheid, now and historically.

Do you know of any resources that provide a general list of "core items" for a reference collection in a First Nation library? The Public Library Catalogue will probably not do the trick. Thanks for your help!

Radical Reference at the Mid-Atlantic Radical Bookfair

Radical Reference will be conducting two workshops on Saturday October 20th in lovely Baltimore. You can see a full schedule of speakers, tables and other workshops here.
