Hello, and thank you in advance for your help!
I am writing a history of the prostitutes' rights movement of the 1970s. (Today, some prefer to call it the sex workers' rights movement.) The national movement launched in San Francisco, 1973, by Margo St. James and COYOTE, and then took off in cities across the country. I am focusing, in particular, on PUMA, the Prostitutes Union of Massachusetts, in Boston, which was active under that name roughly from 1975 to 1984.
I have interviewed dozens of women from the movement in the course of my research, and many believe that they were under FBI surveillance. However, I have filed two FOIA requests and have been repeatedly informed that there are no records related to my search terms (prostitutes' rights, prostitutes, Margo St. James, PUMA, etc). I have sent my requests to the local FBI office in Boston and in DC.
Can you please help me figure out what I'm doing wrong, and how to craft a better request letter? I saw the awesome DIY FOIA letter on your website, but perhaps there are other federal organizations I should be requesting from? Or different search requests? I want to cast as wide a net as possible, but I truly have no idea how the bureaucracy works.

i am attempting to create a dynamic bubble chart that flow thru time by year with each bubble representing a value as described above in the subjects line. i will be focusing on around 1970 to the present. the objective is a visual representation of suppressed wages, rising debt, and lower quality of life thru time. any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated, and awesome.

Is there a possibility to be led to documents/articles that gives a history of what local governments did with monies given to them by the federal government nation-wide, or even world-wide after natural or man-made disasters in the 20th and 21st Century? Hopefully this is not that vague of a question.

Hi! I am looking for journal articles or books that can provide some kind of analysis on the relationship between the extreme "crack down" on (im)migrant labourers / undocumented labourers, and political economy. Given that so many states, especially border states, and so many provinces, seem to benefit from the exploitation of workers in programs such as the temporary foreign workers program, seasonal labour programs, and from businesses that hire undocumented workers -- how do such harsh immigration laws work within the logic of capitalism? Or do they run up against it? Where could I find a discussion about the relationship between these things? I am interested in both liberal and anti-capitalist perspectives.

I'm looking for maps of main bases/forts and forward operating bases of US occupying forces in Iraq since the 2003 invasion. I have an Iraq Veteran (Against the War) friend who is interested in planning a reconciliation trip to Iraq and would like to have maps that show US military installations. These could be maps of bases, regions containing bases, roads between installations, etc. He's looking at it more in the line of how German military installations in France can still be seen throughout the country, and would also like to be able to place a timeline on the construction, use, and abandoning of bases.
