I was listening to KPFA, my local pacifica station this morning, and they were having a fund drive for the Pacifica Radio Archives. The archives contain the voices of 20th century people's history: Studs Terkel, Mahalia Jackson, James Baldwin, and *many* more voices of the people, peace and justice! The fund drive is needed to support their preservation project (and other projects) which seeks to digitize many of the old tapes in the archive.

James and I have been in San Francisco for a year and finally we are starting to connect with local activist communities and let people know about radical reference. We attended a public forum on immigration organized by international a.n.s.w.e.r. at the Women's Building. Karina Garcia, the political chair of the student Chicano Caucus at Columbia University, talked about a large protest against Jim Gilchrist at Columbia University. Radref flyers were passed around and left on several tables. We also went to the LaborTech conference. At the conference, we met a few Korean labor organizers and James and I are planning to meet them in Korea during our trip over the holidays.

It's downright embarassing that NYC doesn't have its own Anarchist Book Fair and Zine Fest. Providence, RI had one of each this year, for fuck's sake! And we had neither. This spring, we hope to change that.
