question / pregunta:
There are many tools out there for handling census data. Unfortunately, I can't find what I need.
I am looking at a 3 county area in my state and need to find census data from ALL census years. The trickiest thing so far has been finding tools that include data from before 1990.
Ideally, but not absolutely nessecary, I'd like to find a tool that will let me create my own variables. I.e. income of richest %1 of households in a grouping of census tracks.
The reason for this question is that my organization is working on an economic history of our region and would like to compare different industries to population trends.

question / pregunta:
Only qualified finalist to be denied interview and upon filing EEO complaint was told it was discretionary and the Human Rights Commission did not have to have a reason.
Does the right to work status in San Francisco allow secret discrimination by discretion and is this protected vis a vis a private party not a union member?
Glad to help in return.

question / pregunta:
I was told, informally, that in 2005, the MOVE women who are incarcerated were at the center of a campaign to stop male guards from patting down female prisoners. How would I find media documentation or any further information about this campaign?

From the217,
"Jeanie Austin looks like a radical. She has dark clothes, a short haircut and plug earrings. The tattoos on her arm look like they could be schematics for a machine to take down Big Brother. But Austin isn’t out to blow up cop cars or storm the Capital: she is a member of the Radical Librarians and Anarchist Archivist Group..."

question / pregunta:
I'm interested in why yoga classes specific for queer, genderqueer, and transgendered people are springing up all over the country. What is it about queer people's experience of yoga that is unique? Also, many queer, genderqueer, and transgendered people describe a disconnection or dissociation with their physical body--how does yoga affect the relationship between the queer, genderqueer, and transgendered person and their body? What research or writing exists about whether queer, genderqueer, and transgendered people have a unique relationship with yoga?

question / pregunta:
In the summer of 1978, women incarcerated at Bedford Hills held several peaceful strikes protesting the increased brutality, draconian conditions, and 35-cent-per-day wages at unskilled jobs. When the administration proved unresponsive to their strikes, the women asked outside groups to organize demonstrations outside the prison (which happened in August and again in October). Where would I find further information about these strikes and outside demonstrations and the results (if any) of these actions?

question / pregunta:
When many people refer to the quote "The American people would never vote for socialism, but under the guise of liberalism will adopt every fragment of the socialist program." Are they referring to the quote "The American people will take socialism, but they will not take the label." from his 1934 Speech?
